Skomer Island............without the puffins!

We took a small boat from Martin's Haven across to the magical Island of Skomer, sadly at this time of year the puffins and many other birds have migrated. Its amazing being on an Island with fewer than 30 people. we walked the radius of the Island which took over 4 hours, with mars bar and crisp breaks ( they only supply bottles of water on Skomer). There is not much there but nature at its best.........
Walking in the hot sunshine with no cares, other than making it back to the boat before it leaves...
Someone had had enough on foot......... On our way back to the boat we were lucky enough to see the local seals basking in the sun, with their adoreable pups. Seeing such beauty makes you realize, this world isn't always a bad place!

What could be better on our return than a cafe stop off in Marloes 'The clock House' ....I loved their little fairy lights hanging from the ceiling and the row of beach houses in the background.

A pot of tea and a rather large slice of cake (walnut took my fancy and the hubby had almond) was needed after all the walking...........We slept well that night!
